Default Upgrade stereo in FX4 Need help please

Hello,

I just signed up but have been browsing for quite a while. Great forum with lots of info.

Like many others, I want to upgrade the stock stereo in my 2011 FX4. I have already installed four db571 speakers and now want to install a new amp while keeping the existing head unit. The amp I am considering is a PBR300X4, because it is small and I should be able to hide it under the dash, like many have done with the Alpine KPB 445 amps.

My question is where and which adapter harness should I buy that I can plug into the existing head unit and the truck harness? I do not want to cut the factory wiring harness to install this amp.

Thanx for your help.

Rob.

I dont see that is compatible on a 2011... I am missing something...?
I have read the PAC directions applications chart several times and no listing for 2011 anything, does it work like it is suppose to on a 2011 F150?
Is anyone having some problems with this harness adpater on a 2011?

I have installed a full system in a 2011 but as of yet no amplifier add ons.... If you have done it please advise thanks....
This is part number by PAC... AOEM-FRD24

pac application charts never seem to be current. Both the frd or metra bt 5520 would work for the the amp install. I would recommend you allow for proper coolibg as they will run warm.

Thanks for all your help. It looks like the Metra is just a wiring harness while the PAC is a little more than that. Not sure which one to buy, but I will definitely get one of them.

Have a great day

I installed the PAC AOEMFRD24. See the link

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...OEM-FRD24.html

PNP install and has remote power wire built in. Took about 30 minutes to install. No splicing or tapping. Works great. No loss of Sync or steering wheel controls.
