The lc1 goes in between you head unit and amplifier rcas. You will need to add rcas to reach from the head unit to where you mount the lc1. Then the amp rcas plug into the lc1. Best universal gain **** there is IMO.

Can I put it closer to my head unit, or does it have to be by my amp? My amp is behind my back seat so it's kind of pointless there, unless its got a long cord.

Headunit -> ****/switch -> amp

I personally don't think it matters where you put the **** with regard to the whole path of cords. If closer to your HU works better for you, that should be fine, simply because RCAs go INTO and OUT OF the unit, so I can't see why it matters where it's located, physically. Anyone is welcome to correct me.

Doesn't matter where it goes. I would put up near the dash for easy adjustment.

Sweet, thanks for the help you two. Do they sell anything like this at Walmart or do I need to order it online?

I personally haven't seen anything like what you're looking for at Walmart. Perhaps Autozone or Advance Auto Parts if you wanna try local? You could also look around for a local car audio store, I'm sure they have something suitable.

No local audio stores unfortunately. I will try Autozone & etc. maybe even the pawn shop.

I'm curious as to why everyone thinks the PAC is the "Best universal gain **** there is." I don't see any specs listed for any of them. I would have chose the EFX RLC by Scosche. It looks like it has a longer cable and I like how it can be under mounted without the two tabs sticking out.

I can't say it is the best but it is one of the more expensive ones if you call $17 bucks expensive. They all do the same job. Here is the cheapest one. Mounts in or under dash, etc.

That's the one I just ordered, the EFX. We'll see how it goes.
