I bought the Kenwood KAC 7005PS. $190 on Amazon. Has pretty good reviews. I also broke down and purchased AudioControl LC6i too. Will hopefully be installing it all soon.

Thanks. I broke down and bought the little alpine amp. Now I'm looking at powered subs. Maybe infinity bass link or sound ordnance. Not sure... I'm catching flack for even thinking about stereo upgrades. Oh well.

hey fellas. I got all my stuff installed - JL 300/4 bridged to some focal comps, and a 250/1 to a jl 10w1...sounds great but I have a nasty hiss. I've turned the gains all the way down on the PAC, which helps but then I get no volume so I bumped it up a tad, just above completely off, then adjusted gains on the amps. The voltage seems really high even at this low level. Are any of you guys getting a white noise from this set? It's not an ignition noise, it's a white, almost static noise.

are you putting your ear to the speakers to hear it or can it be heard from a little distance, 3-4ft away? if so, check your ground and make sure that thing is sanded off completely to bare metal. a light hiss is normal, but only if you put your head to the speakers and hear it faintly. check your settings on the amp, may need to tweak them to how you want it. It could be the filter settings on the amp. have someone put an ear to the speakers when you can hear the hiss, adjust the amp settings until it goes away or becomes very light while still having the right settings on the amp. could get a little tricky when you get it how you want it.

I haven't seen this addressed on this forum. Does all sync and audio get pushed through the PAC? I am using it to run sub amp and it works great I also have a 2ch that I want to run front seperates with. I want to wire straight from amp to crossovers and then onto each component, bypassing all factory stuff. Will this work?

Did you ever improve the hiss? After much research, I opted for a different install method which included the BT5520 harness. I too have some background hiss and am planning on resolving this when the winter weather breaks. One of my options is to switch to the PAC harness but don't want to waste my time if it produces the same results. I am leaning toward the Factory HU as being the problem. It is really an inferior unit. Any input would be great before I rip apart my dash for the fourth time.

Setup info:
Alpine KTP 445U (BT-5520 harness)
Infiniti 6.5" components front and rear
Kicker 10" sub powered by Pioneer GMD9601 amp

I ended up purchasing the Audi controller because the shop I originally going to install said the PAC units will have a slight hum. Works great. Front speakers control the sync.

Glad it's working for you.

My system has no hum with the PAC.

Yeh, I probably ended up spending more than I needed (definitely more than my wife wanted me to spend) but I didn't want to risk it.
