This question is a little unclear - maybe because you're from Missouri (Rock Chalk) - but I'll try to answer it.
Assuming your subwoofer is the SWR-1243D, you'll need 600 watts RMS power to get the most out of it.
If by "power amp" you mean the V-Power line of Alpine amplifiers, it looks like the MRP-M500 would give you 500 watts RMS at 2-ohms, which would push your sub with plenty of power.
If, on the other hand, you don't care if it's a V-Power amp, I would recommend the Alpine PDX-M6. It has the best digital technology in amplifiers, and would sound absolutely fantastic with you sub, maximizing its potential.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for responding.
What i meant was... would an amp with 600 watts rms at 2ohms be what i need even though i have a 4ohm sub (would i just have to wire it like this?---
or would i need an amp with 600 watts at 4ohms to get maximum power to it. ?
Would these be what i need? or should i go with something more powerful?

Gotcha. Yeah your type R would sound excellent with any of those amps.
With a DVC 4-ohm sub, there actually isn't a way to wire it to 4-ohms; so you should definitely look at the 2-ohm ratings for amplifiers, which it looks like you did.
My recommendation would be the Alpine PDX-M6, but I know it is a little pricier. Worth it IMO, but others might disagree.
