Trust me on this if you are looking for a good system for your truck this is what you need!
I have this in mine and it JAMS!! More than I need I had a JL 600/1 and pushed them fine but wanted more so now I have
Phoenix Gold 1500/1
2 JL W3 10" woofers under the seat, AWESOME!!
Plus the new W3s are similar to a shallow mount wich works perfect for these trucks.

You have any HU upgrades or anything? Did you wire it through the stock HU?

I had it wired with the factory head unit for a week and broke down and put a pioneer double din screen so I could set everything just the way I wanted it, I'm **** about my sound quality and factory radio did good but aftermarket does great because you can tune it just the way you want it.
Hope this helps, either way you go factory head unit or aftermarket you will be satisfied with the JL package. I also upgraded my door speakers to JL TR components and that made a big difference in mids and highs quality and loudness wise
Pricey system but will last forever I have had the subs and amp for 4 years with 0 problems and put the Phoenix on there this year
Best of luck pm me if you need any more details or help

Too Loud? Too Bad!
In my experience however, if you wanted to leave your stock speakers as is but are open to upgrading your headunit, that'll give you a few more watts going to them. Anytime I've ever upgraded from a stock headunit (four cars total so far), my stock speakers have gotten louder; I've also been able to adjust the levels better than a stock headunit to avoid distortion as much as possible. But of course, amplifying and upgrading to aftermarket door speakers would be the best possible way to go if you want loud but clear sound to compliment your bass.
