Too much bass?

Too much bass?
I have a 2010 xlt screw with a totally stock stereo system as of now. I was wanting to add 2 12" subs in the back, but not sure if the stock stereo would be too drowned out by them.
Any suggestions or experience with just adding subs without upgrade the rest of your system?

The stock speakers can handle much more power than they're getting. Pehaps you consider a small amp for the stock speakers. A 200/4 would be enough to get you the volume and control you're looking for if you find that there's just too much bass for a balanced sound.

Too Loud? Too Bad!
I have 2x 12" Kicker L7s, with either a 2100 or 2400w amp (can't remember) and I believe I could hear my stock speakers fine (I have an 01). It's been a while since I upgraded to Kicker door speakers and an aftermarket headunit (JVC then Power Acoustik), but if memory serves, stock was still ok for me. If you're fortunate enough to find an amplifier with a remote/bass **** (not sure if most/all come with them nowadays) that you like, grab it so you can control the bass on the fly without having to dive into your headunit settings or pull over to adjust the levels. I constantly use my bass ****.

I can't really chime in about if your speakers would be overpowered or not. But the bass **** would definitely be nice. I don't have one and really wish I did. I've got a single 10" in mine but I have speaker and HU upgrades. I always get compliments on my pioneer 10".

More bass, less space. If you don't care about that, you'll be fine.

Trust me on this if you are looking for a good system for your truck this is what you need!
I have this in mine and it JAMS!! More than I need I had a JL 600/1 and pushed them fine but wanted more so now I have
Phoenix Gold 1500/1
2 JL W3 10" woofers under the seat, AWESOME!!
Plus the new W3s are similar to a shallow mount wich works perfect for these trucks.
