Default Are these the speaker wires?

Looking at installing my amp and sub, and a coworker suggested that I check for existing read speaker wires since Ford may NOT use a separate harness when they do not install rear speakers.

My XL regular cab does not have rear speakers but I found this "y" in the harness on the drivers side.

If these are speaker wires then I'll use this location for t-taps for a line level input.

What year is your truck? My 2004 heritage STX (XL) and my 2006 STX (both ref cabs) both had rear speakers. So did my 93 XL ref cab and my '13 reg cab.

2016 f150 xl

I dont have rear speakers. I have two in the door, and two tweeters in the front pillars.

It would be strange for them to have stopped putting speakers in the rear when they have had them in the previous 4 generations. I'm not really sure what advice to give you for wiring unfortunately.

They did. I can't imagine that my audio system would be any lower than the lowest tier available.

No rears at all.

I believe you, that's just a strange thing to do in my mind. Sorry I don't have any help to offer for your question.

Maybe it is different in your truck but usually the speaker wires are in twisted pairs though. I googled a picture because I didn't have one handy, but they should be like these twisted wires. Not sure of the color speaker wire on your particular truck.

If you really don't have rear speakers, then try tracing the wires from the grommet of your front door into the cab. You will have to pull the cover by the parking brake but should be able to find that grouping of wires which should have your speaker wires in it.

I'm not scared to take the door panel off to get a signal wire, I was just hoping to avoid it.

The wiring harness in my photo runs along the drivers side seat under the door sill. I didn't see any twisted pairs though.

I've been searching for a wiring diagram all day online as well and I keep coming up empty handed.
