Default Tailgate Speakers

hey guys this is what i wanna do i have some marine indoor/outdoor speakers that arn't being used and i wanna mount them inside the bed right by the tailgate so when i tailgate i can hear the music fine without leaving the door open? heres the thing i have a mono amp for my sub and a 4 channel amp for my door speakers how can i hook up these speakers to the head unit and turn my amps off so i don't kill my battery? i know i can just put a switch on the remote wires for the amps but how do i wire the marine speakers up to the head unit without the sound going threw the RCA's?

thanks in advance

yup, a simple remote wire togle switch is all you need

be carefull though, the adjustments you do to make your speakers on the tailgate sound better will mess with the sound of your cab

how will sound come out of my speakers in the cab if i kill my amps the speakers in the cab are all on a four channel amp so if i kill the amp power will there still be sound comming out of the speakers in the cab?

do i just wire the speakers on the tailgate to the harness plugged into the back of the head unit?

thanks

no, you have the right idea, just wire the speaker to the back of your deck as your using the rca outputs what i was saying is when you adjust the frequencies on your deck to make the speakers in the back sound better it will adjust the sound output on the rca's as whell thats what i was implying

ok i c what your saying, so as long as i kill the power to the amps no sound will come out of the speakers inside the truck? but heres the other thing i know i can just unplug the speakers in the bed of the truck when there not in use but i was going to silicone the terminals so water doesn't get in hows that gunna work? can you put a switch on a speaker wire or will it distort the sound quality?

thanks in advance

you can go to your local auto parts store and just get a simple 2 piece connector, use 1 for each speaker and put it under your seat or somewhere, unplug it when your not using it, plug it in when you are...its easy and safe
