Yeah that's quite a bit of power. I think I'll be happy with just 2 of the subs.

After watching that video, it changed my mind about going with 2 12's.. If those 8's hit that hard and have good sq then i'm biting the built on them.

I agree man. But keep I'm mind in lifting my rear seat 2.5". Those little subs aren't so little but worth every penny. I got a chance to hear four of them in person. It shook my eyeballs.

Why do you need to lift your seat 2.5"?

I havent got the tape measure out, but with a mounting depth of 4.75" that seems a bit much, no? Or are you planning on forward firing these?

I believe the mounting depth on the v2's is 6.5/8.
Yes I'll be forward firing them. So in order to have room for the subs, I have to lift the seat.

those 4 8's probably will be louder than 2 12's. with 2 12's you only have 24 inchs of cone area with the 4 8's that 32 inchs of cone area so the 8's will sound louder due to them being more cone area

Your math is wrong. The formula for area of a circle is pi (3.14) x radius squared. For the 12" speakers it would be 3.14 x radius (6) squared
3.14 x 36= 113.04. for two 12s that would be 226.04 sq in

For the 8" speakers it would be 3.14 x 16= 50.24. Multiply that by the four speakers and you get 200.96 sq in.

Ahh you are correct on the mounting depth, I was looking at the SD-2 version.

It's more then just cone area when it comes to an application such as our truck. We have no space. So the tuning of the box and actual box play a huge roll in weather the subs you choose will sound good or not. That's why I'm lifting my seat, do I can have 1.5 cubic feet per sub. The subs i chose work well with 1-1.78 cubes.
