My wife would kill me if I went the two sub route (due to cost) - so I'm going single 10" SD3 in a sealed box. It won't be nuts but should sound really nice.

Trigger pulled. Pics to come... Lead time is 12-14 days.

hmm, should I get the 2 ohm version or 4 ohm version? I'm thinking 2 ohm so if I ever get the dual box, I could wire two together in a 2 ohm configuration. I'd wire it to 4 ohms in the single configuration.

My Alpine PDX-1.600 doesn't care if it's 2 or 4 ohm...it throws 600 RMS either way.

With your amp being what it is, it looks like you can do either.

Personally, I'm doing dual 4s so I can get them down to 1 ohm in parallel to max out my amp. Probably going to do a Pioneer monoblock, just not sure which one yet (GM-D9601 or GM-D8601).

Why not run the Sundown Audio SAE-1000D???

Same price (basically) and probably a MUCH better amp. EDIT: The Pioneer is about ~$100 cheaper on Amazon...ok.

Are you running D4 subs @ 1 ohm at the amp? I'm still leaning toward getting the D2, but the pair would be 2 ohm at the amp and I'd have to get the 2000D Sundown amp to get 1000w @ 2 ohms, which is pretty expensive.

But it seems silly to buy a sub for a future scenario I may never do. I guess I could always easily sell the D2 and buy two new D4's.
