I think I might pull the trigger on the whole sound ordnance setup. I figure if I'm not satisfied with it I'll put it in my drag car mustang (which I rarely drive). I'm just having a hard time grasping what everybody considers("sounds good"). I don't want nothing thats going to beat my brains out! I just want a good clear sounding system that has good short thump to it.
3 yr warranty is hard to beat too.

If you're thinking to put the SO compact under the front passenger/driver seats, Ford really does not provide that much space so measure to make sure it fits. Also, make sure wires are out of the way or are moved. You may want to put Velcro or weld a kick plate to prevent passengers and debris e.g. water/dirt from hitting the powered sub. I have heard some good things about SO so if you just want a little thump that's probably not a bad option. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the heads up and advice! I've seen a guy on one of these forums put one under the passenger seat on theses trucks already so that shouldnt be a problem.

Thanks!
It seems like a lot of us are in the same boat when it comes to subs. We don't want the big bass that 10's and 12's provide and the accompanying amps and space that they require. But rather something that can be hidden out of the way, doesn't take up any space under the seats (some of us use that space for crap), and yet provides some good bass.
This guy, etazeta, has an awesome setup that I'll be mimicking soon. https://www.f150forum.com/f30/2012-s...-today-137577/
For my setup, I'll be using just one of the Sound Ordinance B-8PT's. I'll then get one of those Alpine KTP-445U's to pump up the door speakers. I found a set of 6x8 Pioneers on clearance at Best Buy the other day for $20 so I picked them up. If they sound bad, I'll just relegate them to the back doors and find some Polks for the fronts.

I used the Boss 8" power sub in my previous truck. It gave me exactly what I wanted. Little more bottom not spending alot of money. I was very happy with it. Compact, fairly inexpensive and good sound.

I use the SO B-8bpt in my 11 Screw and am mostly happy with it. It filled in the lows quite nicely and made for a nice match to my system that uses just the wattage my after-market pioneer provides to the 4 doors. It's not a thumping system by any means but has a good full range sound and gets plenty loud for the average person.

I do see myself upgrading in the future so if you really want low lows and want it to thump, skip the 8"ers.

Well I already pulled the trigger so I'm committed to giving this a shot and seeing if it will satisfy my needs! I went with the alpine power pack and component sound ordnance in the front and coaxials in the rear with the so compact sub. I will say that crutch field had excellent customer service and I received my order in two days! Now I just have to find the time of day to install it which may be a couple of weeks the way work is looking but I will do a write up on it and let ya know how it goes! Thanks for the replies!

For what it's worth. One of the members reached out and said he was interested in 2 of the Sound Ordnance B-8PT, so i made a promo for 2.

Let me know how it goes because I want to get a SO B-8PT, my current system (kenwood speakers, and pioneer hu) needs a bit more of a thump. and this little sub should do the trick because my buddys has two 12's and its way over the top imo.
