Default Subwoofer thump

Hey all, 2005 f150 lariat. I replaced the HU and kept the audophile sub and amp. All works good, even sounds better than expected except now when I turn the key, give the sub power it gives a thump. Only when you turn the power on. I used all the proper harness's, just not sure what I might of done. Any ideas.

look for soft start, or soft turn on, some amps have that option, its not completely uncommon for an amp to do that, what amp do you have?

Default thump

factory unit might only give I think I saw 5volts of power to turn on the amp, the after market deck I believe uses 12-14volts (like a power ant would use) thus giving the amp a sudden boost of power making the thump. anyone else got info?

I'm looking at adding the factory sub, but I'm adding the factory wires from a salvage truck.... will I have the same issue with the thump, or is all the audiophile stuff set up to go right away?

I read and agree that you are right about the 5 volt. The upgraded HU will be giving off a 12 volt hit so we will have to splice in a 5 volt regulator. I will be trying this tomorrow. Later
