According to the amp's specs, that amp is capable of a 2-ohm load so you don't need to go any lower than that. A D4 would be what you'd want.

Get a different amp. Get a sundown, soundqubed, crescendo, etc.. What's your budget for an amp?

If you're buying a amp an sub's new, You need to match the 2 to work together as far as ohm load 2 0r 4
A top of the line sub is a waste of money unless you have the correct air space in the box and enough power. If you have a local shop just ask them what they are using in truck's or call crutchfield.

+1 can't stress this enough

If you do end up with the W3 and decide to go with a JLA amp, pass on the JX series and go with an XD.

Nothing wrong with the PDX-V9 and you can run either the D4 or the D2 and show the amp either a 2 or 4 ohm load. You'll get the same power which is perfect for the SD3.

ALPINE TYPE R's im bumpng 1000watts a sub as we speak, doors were also upgraded to larger focals and I threw away the "upgraded junky" Sony sound system that came with my truck.
