Ok, heres the grommet on the passenger side firewall.

Hmmm.. I don't appear to have that one.

I have a large grommet just behind the battery housing with a large group of cable harness going through it and a small quarter sized blank grommet down and to towards the passenger about 3 inches away from the big grommet. Both on the passenger side. Both of them I cannot see from the inside of the cab either looking up from the passenger floor space, or from behind the glove box space. (when removed)

In both cases the carpet and subsequent panels were removed for access. There is just a lot of component modules, wiring, and environmental ducting/controls in the way, I can't see my way back to the firewall. I'll have to post picture of the engine space to show what I see.

Thanks for posting the pictures Heavy_Metal.

I think Heavy_Metal's truck is older than '16.

I saw somewhere that someone found a blank grommet higher up on the firewall. close to the top passenger side area.

I'll hopefully start pulling wire on my 2016 XLT this weekend. If I find a good spot on the passenger side, I'll let ya know.

I didn't pick up on the model years being discussed. I will post a separate thread.

Thanks,

That's my problem too.... I can't get to the firewall without taking the ductwork out. I mean, I will if I absolutely have to but I'd rather not, yanno?

If you look behind the engine bay fuse box, on the P.S.! You see a 1x2 inch flat gromment, that you can go through for you power wire. I couldnt get my big hand back there, but OP say theyve had good luck.

I went through the d.s. large gromment, as it worked out to the easiest route, for my 8awg power wire.

You get any noise from running your power wire that close to your signal wires?

None, that Ive ever heard or noticed!

But I only added a sub and amp for it. I didnt amp the door speakers.

I really, really, wanted to run the power wire through the smaller gromment on the p.s., behind the engine compartment fuse box. Would of been about a 5ft shorter run. Just couldnt get my damn hand in there, nor contort my arm enough lol.
