Stereo help on 2011 FX4
I post this in the 09-14 section got no response.
So I've had the issue of the drivers side door speaker not working and fixed it by replacing the wiring harness. Now three harnesses later I'm fed up!!! I have pioneer 4 way speakers in all the doors, a Pac adaptor so I can run a sub, and a Sound Ordinance powered sub behind my rear seat. I'm ready for an over hall and want your all's advice.
I would like my dash to remain stock, however I would like to replace all the door speakers with new ones and get an amp, sub, and a sub box to go under the rear seat. I would like to run speaker wires from the amp to all the door speakers. I know this will involve drilling through the door jams to run the wiring. Anyone have pictures of how they've done this?
I know there are tons of products out there! What do you all recommend? I'm fine with doing the work myself, I'm just not familiar with sub and amp information like ohms and what wattage to go with. I'm thinking a single 10 inch or maybe a 12. (The powered sub I have now is an 8") Since I plan to run wiring to all speakers, should I go with a 5 channel amp? I'm trying to use as little space as possible. I use my rear seat a lot with my two Labrador retrievers.
Any help and photos is greatly appreciated.

OK I installed these in the front:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-S0YC0Il...io-C5-525.html
They were on sale at the time.
And installed them like this:
https://www.f150forum.com/f7/front-c...nstall-125755/
I put the crossovers under the window switch panel like in post#21.
I had installed Coaxial speakers in the door but while much better than stock, I could not hear the treble much. The components are much better.
For Amps I used an NVX MVPA4 for the 4 door speakers. The rear speakers are turned down almost all the way. And an MVPA1
The MVPA4 is here with a free wiring kit:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...NVX-MVPA4.html
The MVPA1 is for my subwoofer:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...FZCCaQod-j4ECQ
For the subwoofer, I built my own box to fit under the smaller pass side seat (Super Cab). The sub is a 10" JL Audio:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_13610TW...9285625&awdv=c
It provides pleanty of bass.
I was able to install both amps in the bottom of the center dash. This reduces the amount of wiring immensely. I ran the 8ga + wire from the bat thru the pass side grommet then over to the center dash where I spliced on 2 lengths of 10ga wire to connect to the amps. I used the included ground wire and attached it to the dash frame near the floor. I used an adapter harness that came from Crutchfield with the DNX890 head unit I installed so I did no soldering to the factory wire under the dash.
The system works great and in your case you can use the amps' settings to tune your system for level and crossover. The amps are able to operate on line level inputs so no problem there.

Thanks for posting. My problem with installing the speakers like this guy is, he used the connections from the stock wiring harness to make the connection. My wire harness continues to be the source of my problem. I would like to run speaker wire through the door jams.
Anyone know the best and easiest way to run wires through the door jams?

Here is a pic. There is probably some explanation too.
