Default Steering wheel audio control help

ok so i just bought an f-150 about a week ago, and it came with the steering controls for the radio. i have an alpine 9887 to install, and i would like to keep the volume controls (the other controls aren't as important since i don't listen to the radio or cd's) so i bought a pac swi-rc. installation is pretty straight forward except for the manual sucks on the important details. i figured out that i need to use the green wire on the pac unit to the steering volume wire, but my question is which wire on the truck do i tap it into? i did also see that i may need another module to get it to work, but then i've seen instances where it wasn't needed, so i'm hoping that i don't need one.

and my truck is a 2011 XLT super cab. thanks for the help in advance. i can't find any info anywhere

i've seen horror stories on both axxess and pac, so i'm hoping the pac unit works since i really just want the radio controls.

the closest thing i've found is this

Pin 18- Light Blue w/Red- steering wheel signal
Pin 19- Dark Green w/Orange- steering wheel return

but that's for a 2005 f150. could be the same, but i'm not sure

I would get a PAC wiring harness for your 2011. That is what I used and you didn't need to look for the SWC wires. They were already connected when you plugged the SWC harness into it.

Your PAC SWC you have now plugs into it. I would always suggest using a wiring harness

yeah, i'm not a fan of hard wiring things, but there's just one other harness that plugged into the stock radio. i'll check those wires out and if it's not one of those, then i'll probably go that route
