I think you selected "vehicle specific speakers." I also did that at first, but when you input your trucks info and then select 5"x7" / 6"x8" speakers you'll see that it says they fit.

If you're not sure, you can actually select the chat feature and someone will tell you yes or no. If you buy the 5"x7" speakers you'll need an adapter.

I wanted confirmation from an individual F150 owner like yourself that has hard proof of the fitment and not some Crutchfield techie that drives a Honda hacking through the internet. Haha. I didn't want to buy 6x8's, tear my doors apart only to see a 3" speaker hole and start cussing and throwing stuff.

They are actually quite knowledgeable. Who do you think confirmed it for me? (: Picture 6 is of the backdoor without the panel on, definitely 6x8.

I was able to select a generic 2012 F150 Scab on Crutchfield and the Rockford Fosgate Prime R168X2 shows as a "fit". I also looked up the Kicker Soundgate Powerstage Upgrade 09-2014 F150 P/N DL3Z18808B and it comes with 4 6x8's.

So it sounds like there will be no need for cussing or throwing stuff.

Time to eat some crow peeps, turns out it's my mistake. While selecting a 2012, Ford, F150 XL, Pickup Super Cab, the next question is with or without integrated radio. At first I chose the without integrated radio and it only gives the option of the front door speakers. Upon selecting the with integrated radio, it gives both front and rear speaker options. So it's 6x8's all around, beers on me

I hope they work out well for you. I'm still rather pleased with mine. I've realized I don't have to turn the volume up as loud as when I had stock speakers.

I will be upgrading my speakers in my used 2011 lariat i purchased a few months ago.
It has the 'super duper sony' system (or whatever it's called) that truly sounds like crap. Sony should be embarrassed to vend out such crappy equipment and stick their name logo on the covers.

I stopped buying Sony equipment some 15 years ago; with the exception of the PS4. I find off brand companies (some) try harder to compete since they don't have name brand behind them.
