You can pick up a prefab box for a single 10 on ebay for around $50 or so.
Look at the older style Infinity Reference 1052W or a Dayton HO 10 for around $100. Both are good sound quality subs for the money, the reference will be the louder of the two given the same power, you can feed the Dayton about twice as much though.
And a decent used amp on ebay that puts out around 300-500W RMS for around $100.

Are there any locally owned shops in your area? give them a call and see what they'll do the install for if you bring in all of the equipment. You'll be able to save a lot of money buying stuff online.

Are you talking about a powered sub (no external amp)? The box I linked box is custom made to fit under your seat, and the sub fits in it. You can look at an MTX thunderform or the saleen I mentioned earlier for self powered custom fit subs.

Well no, I had a powered sub in my old pickup and it didn't impress me all that much. If they make a 10" powered sub, then I would be interested. I'll have to look at the MTX Thunderforms, but I recall those being kind of expensive. I'm guessing they do bump pretty well though, but how well comparatively to the Infinity Reference? I like the idea of not needing to install an amp, but then again I might just get it done for me.
Sensitivity is sometimes exagerated by manufacturers and there are a couple ways to measure it that give different numbers.
