Need Speaker Advice
I have a 1999 F250 light duty and I am looking to replace the factory speakers in all four doors. I have a nice Pioneer head unit that I was initially going to use to power them but I think I have changed my mind. I have 2 Autotek Super Sport 200.2 amps that put out 75 rms x 2 at 4 ohms that I want to use to power the front and back speakers, I have them so I might as well use them. I really don't want to install a sub so I am looking for speakers with decent base response, I know I won't have earth-shattering bass, but that is ok with me, it just needs to be decent. Anyway, I am not sure what speakers to get. I know I don't want Infinity's, I hear too much about harsh highs and I know I do not want that. I am also curious if I can fit a component set of speakers, either 6.5 or 5.25, into the factory front door location with a adaptor without drilling a hole in the door panel for the tweeter. I will only have this truck a few more years and I plan to get a newer Ford truck, so I would like to move this system to my next vehicle as well. This would allow me a little better sound with a round driver in the front and since 04 & up model years have a tweeter location, then these components would also work in my next truck. (I know this last part may sound a bit crazy but 'm planning ahead.) Anyway, here is what I am looking at:
Pioneer TS-D6802R (maybe TS-D1720C for the fronts)
Polk DXi or db series
Alpine SPS-517 or SPR-68
Since speakers will be the only part of this system I will really have to buy I would like to spend not more than $200 for all 4, but will pay a little more for the right choice. Thanks for the advice in advance.
