Back on topic, how many coils in the subwoofer should I get. I have no clue what it means, but it says different amounts on the subs.

PS: Just saw your post, I'll take your word for it without a video, haha. Unless you want to fix one up, but don't worry about it.

Here are the brands that carry 10" subs (Bestbuy);
Kicker (6)
Pioneer (3)
Infinity (3)
Polk Audio (1)
Dual (1)
Clarion (1)

PS: Only 10" subwoofer over 500watts is this Kicker;
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kicker+-...&skuId=9925083

Found this 10" (also in 12") Alpine subwoofer, but I don't think it's what your talking about. It only says 750watt peak power;
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Alpine+-...&skuId=4769794

Only 12" subwoofer over 500watts is this Clarion (Don't know much about them, and it's on sale );
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Clarion+...ustomerreviews

Found this other 12" JBL, but only at 350watts (Oh, and it's on sale);
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/JBL+-+12...&skuId=1551139

I know that I need to expand my search to other places, but if I could get most of my sound system at Bestbuy then it would be beneficial to me. BTW, best subwoofer out of that bunch?

If you are going with two subs I would suggest getting each sub with dual 4ohm voice coils. That way you can wire each in parallel to a final 1ohm load at the amp. The impedance=ohms are the resistance load. Typically the less resistance at the amp(the more power it can put out). So i would suggest get a 1ohm stable amp as well.

Say way from dual.

Don't get any alpine that isnt a type R. The type S and E's are super cheap and don't hold much rms.

Hey KR, is this the box your talking about?
http://www.foxacoustics.com/ProductD...150%2D210%2D04
It actually looks pretty sweet, and at a nice price. However, do these boxes come pre-assembled or do you have to work for it? Haha

Alright, but which one of those subs is the better of them all. I take it the Alpine is out of the quesiton, because it's not the R kind, and I figured that much.

Clarion is known for its headunits, not so much the subs.
The kicker will give you the best "boom" out of the ones listed.
The pioneer (depending on which kind) can also sound great and put out some heavy bass.
Infinity and polk are both good, but more known for components and coaxs

sorry i keep bringing up the type R's but for the 5.875 mouting depth and 600 rms, its hard to beat for this application. I would check the mounting depth on each one.

But pricing an amp to push 1200+ rms wont be cheap.

IBD is right... A custom box will out perform a pre fabricated box... Everyone i dealt with wasnt even gonna consider putting two 10's under my seat.. They'd only do one 10 or one 12... I compared my sub with the box air space then went back and compared again for hertz.. I forget what the mumbers are but im tuned pretty good...

IBD suggested focals.. I second that.. Its taking everything in me not to pull the JL's out and go with Focal...

Just waking up.. Gotta go do my run then i'll be back to check the links

I got a brand new type E rated for 250 watts rms and 750 peak, in a A-trend single 10" sealed box... It's slams pretty good and the bass is really tight.... I bought it at bestbuy for $15 cause I had a $50 gift card to burn up....it was $64.99.... Price to performance wise this sub is quite impressive, but like you said, lacking the rms input for severe excursion.... The new type Es are built like the type R (according to alpine)....Im pulling this in exchange for 1 JL w3v3 4ohm 10".... After hearing this JL in my screw, I now must have it, it's like night and day to the kicker, Polk, infinity kappa, and Hertz subs I heard that day at the audio shop....

I know that a custom box would be better, and it is possible, but I would rather not have to deal with the hassel of creating one, or getting someone to create one. I'll look into this Kicker 10" sub at Bestbuy, and if not then I'll go with an outsider (outside of Bestbuy). The door speakers in my F-150 are 6x8's correct?
