Sound Ordinance B 8PT

Figured I post here (under the correct subject anyway).
I just finished my install of the Sound Ordnance B-8PT I got from Crutchfield (for $149.00 !) and I'm impressed with the little bugger. I ran the included (free from Crutchfield) wiring kit from the battery, thru an available spot on a big rubber grommet on the passenger side firewall, down the side of the floor under the plastic diamond plate covers, under the carpet to the center under the back seat.
I also pulled the center console apart, installed the PAC interface and ran the 17' RCA wire around the driver's side to the same spot in the back under the seat. The biggest problem I encountered was a dang screw under the plate for the USB and aux audio port. ( Ironic that the most frustrating part had "Microsoft" on it !?!? ) Once I figured out I had to pop off that cover, I found the third screw holding the plate on, and got to work. ( Pulling the trim away from the center plate is very scary and not easy. )
The B-8PT sits in the back/middle of the rear floor, under the seat, out of the way. It switches on and off with the factory radio, and works great ! It's amazing how much bottom that little box puts out. Yes, I mostly listen to acoustic stuff, Bela Fleck, Steve Morse, Bluegrass, Country, Blues, and a little jazz, so for that, it works great. I don't listen to much that has lows below an acoustic bass ( 41Hz). Really happy with it, ESPECIALLY for the money. Wow.
(OH, I'm NOT using the remote level controller...)

So I've been on a vacation/medical trip the last couple weeks, and during the trip I unplugged the control ****. First I tried unplugging it at the user end, but it didn't make any difference, so I tried unplugging it from the sub side. Viola! It hasn't shut off since. There must be a short in the "phone" cable used to connect the remote and sub.

What all would I need to install 2 B-8PT's with the PAC AOEM FRD24? What cords, etc?

Very cool. I don't even use the remote control thingy. I let the head unit control the volume of the sub along with the front speakers. Really liking the difference. It took me a while to get the settings where I like them. Lowering the low pass "crossover" frequency is the ticket I think. If you have it too high, things sound very strange. I THINK I'm someplace around 100hz now.

The FRD 24 gives you both front and back stereo outputs via RCA plugs, so that works (4 outputs total). The free kit includes a 17' stereo RCA cable, so you'd get two of those, which is what you need anyway. They would also provide two turn-on wires, which SHOULD work to turn on two amps (I hope).
If Crutchfield includes two of those wiring kits for free with your two subs, seems like the only thing you would need to buy is heavier power cable, and some kind of splitter ("Y"), and maybe some larger black wire loom for under the hood.
Oh, and you'd need the ROOM to install them. My single sub is just on the floor, and it's working great. Two of them could sit there too. No biggie. Others have stuck them to the back wall, but I think you have to cut insulation and stuff. No thanks.
Good luck !

1st, you'd need a pretty heavy power cable to supply juice to those two. The "free" kit includes a 17' 10 gauge power wire, and a shorter (6'?) ground wire. I guess you could run both power wires together from the batter, but I'd rather run a single heavier power cable ( 4 gauge?) and split off to the two amps under the back seat.

With the one turn on wire from the HU to subs, will I need to split it to run to the two seperate subs?
Also, I have been looking at Crutchfields website and it has the Sound Ordinance B-8PT and the Sound Ordinance B-8PTD. I can not find any difference in the two, does anyone on here know if there is a difference? The christmas catalog that I recieved says the B-8PTD is small enought to fit under the passenger seat.
