I used stp as that's only thing that was carried locally. Good stuff, sadly my towns only audio shop closed its doors so I'm stuck watching online crap while trying to piece together a full audio system.

Much the same that many people can't hear the difference between mid range and high end speakers, most people can't tell the difference in sound deadening.

If you're one of the people who can tell it's improved, but the A-B comparisons don't yield any difference, go towards the cheaper end of the spectrum.

I've used some stuff I got from Canada in bulk, I'd love to tell you the name but it's been WAY to long ago (like 6-7 years). I bought WAY too much and still have some left over. Just avoid asphalt based products, what a stinky mess.

anyone use the peel n seal? I did this in my mustang but haven't driven it yet, seems like its cheap enough that you could do the entire truck for under $100. Couple that wil spraying the inside of the doors with under coating and it should come out pretty good. I'm going to leave that for a project I'll do after I get moved next month.

Peal n seal. First, its not a sound deadener. Second, it is asphalt based. It will melt and run in the heat of a car interior. Finally, it puts off foul smelling and toxic vapors

I think the one I got is butyl w aluminum backing. May not be exactly peel and seal. Friends running it in his 30 sedan and nothing noticeable yet. I'll keep an eye on it and see what it does before I get carried away on the truck.

Butyl is exactly what you want. No fumes.

Asphalt is the one to avoid.
