Default Something I noticed.

Right now I have an '03 F-150 XLT supercab with the cassette/single CD. When I'm playing CD's they tend to get very hot. So hot you wouldn't want to hold it once it ejected. The Ranger I had previously did the same thing. It's actually damaging some of the older cd's I have. (burning pinholes)

I've had CD units in my vehicle since they became available and none of them got as hot as the ones in my trucks.

FWIW, I've driven Fords over 40 years.

Just me or anybody else notice this ?

Solutions ?

13 year old CD/Cassette? A lot of improvements have been made since then. I would upgrade it for $100 and get with the modern days.
Sounds dangerous if it gets that hot
