Well i finally got it installed. Overall installation is simple and quick due to the ready made harness and OEM plugs. Bass is clean and for many who just want better low end response will be pleased with it's performance. The power stage amp works well and definitely better than than just using the stock radio. I just want to point out this setup is not for everyone. It does work well for the guy or gal that wants a clean installation.

I had a chance to let other people listen to the setup to get more opinions. All responses were positive saying the Kicker setup sounded "fantastic" or "awesome" or "could not believe such a small enclosure could produce that much bass". They all have newer trucks, mostly GM's with the traditional sound system upgrades with amps, speakers and a traditional sub enclosure.

My only negative so far is the fact the equipment is plug n play. This is completely positive with the exception for an external bass **** controller for the Substage. Will see about adding one down the road considering I personally prefer less bass than what the system is capable of producing. The Powerstage is also worth a look considering it rounds out the setup nicely. Both units can be installed with two modifications to the vehicle. Poking a hole through the empty grommet on the firewall for power connections and cutting the carpet in the back for bolting the Substage to the factory bolt holes. Chose to Velcro the unit since I am working on another setup using the CVT 6.5's and may remove it. Also this will allow easy removal if I needed the floor space since it only has two plugs and it can be removed quickly.

Got a chance to compare the Kicker Hideaway unit to the Soundgate sub. Unit fits quite well underneath the passenger seat. If all you wanted to do was add a "little" more bass to the music without the loss of usable space then this or something similar may be perfect for you. It does very well at low to mid volume levels, but falls short when cranked. You would probably need 2 units to be to come close.

That speaker looks like the kicker cvt 10. The sub alone you can by for about 89-100. That's the speaker I have. I heard it I. Others vehicle and it hit pretty nice. I have to tweek mine a little but still sounds nice in my truck.

Thank you for the review! Have you heard the MFT Sony system? How does your system compare? Especially in the bass department?

Just listened to a 2013 FX4 last week with the MY Touch Navi. Kicker setup is definitely an upgrade. Adding the stock tweeters sometime to see about lifting up the sound. May also put the Rockford BRT inline to see how the Powerstage does as a processor only.
