Securing two 12's on the back seat
im about to purchase two kicker 12 inch CVRs from a friend. im going to just have them rest on the rear bench seat of my 97 supercab.
is there any preferred way to secure them to the seat so they dont slide? i was thinking about just using a tie down, like one used to secure luggage.

yaa its an unfortunate time we live in where a mans subwoofers are always at risk. i already have a 10 mounted underneath my bench seat but i guess im just power hungry.
the 12's wouldnt be permenantly in the back seat, just on "cruising" occasions.

I may be wrong but don't you have 60/40 rear seats?
If so just remove the smaller side and build a tall and narrow sub box from the floor to the window line. You can still ride 2 people on the other seat that way. You can even make a rectangular grille to cover the subs so they don't stick out so much.
I've built one like that for a friend and I made the subs rear firing with some 4" stand offs to stop the box and subs from hitting the rear wall. With the subs to the far passenger side and rear firing you are basically corner loading the sub and the output on the low frequencies is very impressive.

A buddy of mine used to roll around with his sub box just laying on his rear seat. It didn't really slide all that much, only on really hard cornering. But if you don't drive extremely crazy then you should be fine. He never ever had an issue, and when he needed another seat he just stood it vertically and the person sitting next to it held it up. Not really 100% safe, but it did the job!
I really think joefox's idea is gold though! That would even look good.
