SCAB aftermarket sub install info
Just a quick note to let everyone that may be interested in installing an aftermarket sub: I have a 2013 SCAB STX and I installed a Kicker HS8 under the rear seat.
I opted to run the wiring under the mat and down the sill plate channel on the passenger side; while talking with Crutchfield during the order, they recommended a 12 ft RCA cable (with Kicker adapters). I questioned them on the 12 ft., as I thought it would be a little short, but they assured me it was plenty.
Turns out I was right, and a 15 ft would have been a better option, as Ithe cable was about 18" too short. I ended up going to BestBuy for gender changers and a 4 ft cable - not the ideal solution, but I didn't want to pull all of my wiring out.
SO,,, if you're planning this for a spring/summer project, be mindful of where and how you run your cabling, and make sure you get the appropriate cables.
