Or you could always put a thousand mp3's on a CD and put it in your CD player. Not as easy as your phone to get to the song you want but with a 6 disc you can have upwards of 6000 songs at your disposal through the 6 disc.

I bought a super tiny Lexar Echo 16gb flash drive for my truck. It's so tiny it's barely noticeable. $24 and they make 32 and 64gb versions also.
Most of my music is 256bitrate and theres like 3700 songs on that thing.

Wow! Honestly I didn't expect to get many replies, if any. Thank you all for the links, and the tips. I believe I am going to try hardlining phone to the usb on my HU. If that is not to my liking, I may have to accept that streaming my music may not be a realistic way to reproduce the best sound.
With all of the time, effort, and $ I have dedicated to my sound system, I would not want to sacrifice quality for convenience. Thanks again guys

I have my phone connected to the aux in on my Alpine headunit. I spliced a 3.5mm stereo minijack onto the Alpine AI-Net cable. It sounds great and lets me use my stereo as a hands-free - the phone simply ups the gain of the mic when I get or place a call, the music is paused and call audio comes out my speakers.
Edit: I don't think the usb is going to work. The head unit is probably expecting a simple mass storage unit, so you'll have to "mount" you phone to usb like connecting it to a computer. You also won't be able to do calls over usb. I'd use a 3.5mm aux cable.
