yeah, i think 10's are the best all aroudn speaker, but that is also because i like really tight bass, not boomy...so a 10" in a sealed box is what i always do...

There is no reason a ten or eight is better. That statement is very false. I have hear 18s sound better and tighter than eights. Remember guys its 80% install 20% equipment

ill be listening to some rap/hip hop stuff once my wires come this tuesday. figure if i wanna listen to rock or country ill just turn the sub volume down or off. and i liked how i have mine put in, i still have room for two people. i hate having a full backseat of people anyways, now i have a reason to be like "sorry, trucks full". all my friends say the same thing about 8's and 10's being so much better, but i have a hard time believing it. its usually the same friends who like to think their shallow mounts sound exactly as good as a full-size of the same sub. and i know thats not true. i prefer how the 12's and 15's ive heard sound over the 8's and 10's ive heard almost every time.

Just curious and this has nothing to do with anything, but why would you hate having people in the back?

haha well i like havin a person or two in the back, i just really hate it when i have one seat left and someone asks if they can ride with me, cause then i gotta move my seat up. 1 or 2 in the backs fine, im just not much for a full backseat.

There is no way. No possible way 1 18 will sound better to techno music os rock music where the bass is quick or sharp.

The only way your going to get a sub that big to compress and decompress is mounting them isobaric or facing each other. So they push/pull each other and force it in or out faster.

You obviously not too up to date on the new car audio scene.

A 18 will sound as good as a 21" sub or a 8" sub, it is all in the install

For what it's worth, I've heard 8's that anyone would have thought was a 12 or bigger. At the same time I couldn't imagine an 15 or an 18 sounding anything like an 8 or a 10. Why would you want it to???

I understand installation is a big part of it, but I'd have to give more then 20% of the credit to the equipment. I mean even the best install isn't gonna make cheap *** flea market equipment sound like top of the line equipment, no way, no how. I worked at an audio shop back in the mid 90's and still have friends that are in the business. Yes it's changed, but I'm not thinking it's changed that much.
