Replaced sony sub
First off this was a team effort which included my truck and the great ideas and knowledge of the people on this forum! I sold my 2001 f-150 and upgraded to a 2012 FX2 with Sony non-nav. Couldn't stand the lacking power issues and realized I wasn't the only one.
I wanted to leave the clean stock look and did not want to replace the HU. First I removed the sub, hardwired and installed an audiocontrol LC2i, installed my amp and connected the two. I was skeptical about the two getting too hot behind the rear seats but found there is plenty of room for air flow. No interference with the rear vents. Mounted both LC2i and amp on an MDF board and self tapped it to the supports behind the molded fabric. Installed the gain remote for the subs up by the shifter. The new F-150's made it very easy for power supply integration.
Two 10" Orion subs in downfire box from car audio factory in Richmond TX. Perfect fit for new seat configuration. I'll post all the sub pics in a bit. Now that I have all the bass I need, I now need new mids and high..... Always something. Thanks again for all the great posts

Thanks for your sharing your process thus far. Looking forward to the sub pics too.
I am just planning my Sony Non-Nav upgrade. So, if I understand correctly, you just used the Sony sub feed for your input into the LC2i?

Yes it was done just for the sub..... for now. The LC2i is awesome for the sub replacement just for the ease of access to the wires on the low pass signal. If you can get under the center console and run the wires back to it, I believe it can be used on the full pass signal utilizing the full signal for sub and for mids and highs, as it has the main RCA output for the main (bass) and another RCA for the high pass (mids and highs), however only one input for the signal. If anyone has done this let me know, other wise i'll have to return it and get an LC6. Trying to find the time to get under that console!
