Quick question about replacing speakers

I have the 13 XLT also but had an amp and subs installed first. (scavenged from previous vehicle). Replaced the speakers last with Alpine Type R components in the front and two way in the rear and found the pillar tweeters to be the biggest improvement.. Why marine speakers? Just wondering as that is what the link seems to be pointing to. Also 6x8's fit as well. Check out Crutchfield and other threads on here for info.
Also if using 2-3 ways how does that work if leaving a pillar tweeters intact. Wouldn't you be running almost two tweeters?

Pillar tweeters replaced in front using component speakers. Just two ways in the rears. Hope this helps. I didn't think I would see a huge improvement replacing speakers as I had already added the amp and subs to power the existing speakers. But it was immediately noticeable how much better the new tweeters as opposed to the originals sounded. Overall the sound was better but especially the tweeters. I know they are driven by an amp so I don't know if the same benefit would be gained without an amp but if replacing the speakers anyways, might as well do it right to begin with imho.
