Default Quick question about inline fuse

On my Alpine KTP-445U, the yellow power wire has what looks like a 5A inline fuse holder built in. One would think it would have the correct fuse in it already since the unit itself comes with a 15A. Nowhere in the instructions does it mention said 5A fuse holder, just that if connecting directly to battery, add an inline 15A (Which I already have) as close to the battery as possible.

So why would they put a 5A holder with no fuse? Should I just cut it off or get a fuse to go in and have both a 5A and a 15A inline?

Here's pics of what I'm talking about...

Also, I am connecting it to the parrot harness FOR-11CK, do I need to run it direct to battery or just connect to yellow wire on parrot? I know it is usually best to run it's own power, but boy, it would be so much simpler to just connect it to the parrot like everything else...

going to the parrot is fine.

Just make sure to have a fuse on the line somewhere to protect your equipment

So I guess I can just cut off the seemingly non-functional 5A holder, and just splice my 15A in it's place, between the 2 yellow wires?

Yeah as long as the gauge wire / fuse holder and the rest of the circuit can handle it
