Well guys i have a 2012 ecoscrew with the sony premium system with the nav and to say the least im very dissapointed.. Now i love the sync and the touch screen and nav so im going to keep that and all the steering wheel features as well but im going to replace the tweeters and speakers as well as the sub. This is what i plan on getting!
Clean sweep DSP
Clean sweep SSI
Kicker RS component speakers
Kicker CompVT shallow mount sub in ported box
Kicker IX1000.5 amp
Now with that gear ill keep all the features of the stock HU but ill be able to upgrade all the gear so i get that super clean clear sound.
I priced this all out and its only 1500$ est for all the gear. Ill also be using 0 guage wire for power and 12 guage going to my components!.. Should sound pretty good. Going to be running the speakers probably at 3 ohms cause of the crossovers so about 90 RMS watts to each door and will run the sub at 2 ohms for 500watts RMS. Should sound pretty good, cause the sony system blows bad!. Iv had many systems in my day with my last system being a full compedition MTX system valued at 14,000$ and 10,000 watts, Hit somewhere in the range of 152 DB with 2 subs. Had 14 speakers to go along with it haha but thats beyond what i want now im all bassed out so i hope this system runs good for my truck.. any thoughts!?
Also does anyone know what size the centre speaker is. And should I replace it and run it off the hu or just disconnect it and not even worry about it? And centre as in the one up on the dash.

thoughts: the clean sweep is older tech these days... and you pay dearly for it. I think you will get better results with a LCQ-1 or like product. If you search i did an all JL install on my Screw (components, amps, Went with ID subs) and was going to order the clean sweep, but after talking with several installers around here... everyone steered me away from that and into a signal summing interface that has an adjustable eq. I have the LCQ-1 and love it (mounted in my center console for easy adjustments). If you want the system to sound like you want it you can make the adjustments... vs a digital eg that tell you how it is going to sound. The LCQ-1 has a bass **** that does the obvious... but the best part is that is functions as a button to listen with or without the eq... for adjustments... this makes things much easier.
I ran my own speaker wire as well. Make sure you get 100ft. It's longer then you think... or at least I thought. I also mounted the amps under the seat (much easier to get to and install IMO)... I'm not sure of the size of the kicker, but the two JLs i used (XD400/4, XD600/1) were tinny and fit easily.
Crossovers for the components. I have seen many people installing these in the doors.... I chose a different route and installed them in the dash... On each end (side) of the dash there are panels that simply pull out. I mounted the crossovers there for easy access and adjustment (not that i need it with the LCQ-1) but easy access is always a plus.
If your budget allows get a real DSP such as the JBL MS8, keep/upgrade your center channel spkr and stay with the 5.1 or bump to 7.1. I *think* your center channel is a 2" tweeter (cant imagine it being a full range driver). Depending on your fabrication skills there are allot of options.
Getting these trucks to stage/image properly is difficult and a full DSP with center channel spkr would certainly help significantly in this area.

yeah i dont need something to crazy as you see up^ a few posts iv had crazy, i just want something better than the sony premium system cause its not premium at all in my mind so just a simple component and sub upgrade with a 1000w rms 5 channel should do the trick. oh and im getting the DSP and the SSI from JL for cost so thats alright.
