Must have been some sort of incentive for that year. Because I only got 3 days or months (can't remember) services and 6mth Sirius.

If you retain Sync (using Maestro with Kenwood or any radio with other interface module like MS-FRD1), and have 911 Assist set to ON, then Sync will auto dial 911 when an emergency situation is detected. You can read about it on their site:

There we go. Finally someone who knows what they're talking about.

From that link:
911 Assist is a feature of SYNC, and it’s available for the life of your vehicle, even if you transfer the vehicle to another owner. There are no subscriptions required to use the feature; however you do need to choose to set the feature to ON prior to an accident in order for 911 Assist to be available during the event. SYNC will display either an icon or text reminder of its current 911 Assist ON/OFF setting each time your vehicle connects to your phone. - See more at: http://support.ford.com/sync-technol....2Rll4WrJ.dpuf

911 assist is set to OFF by default Good grief, you would think it would be set to ON by default, well I'm going to have to enable it on my truck and my wife's truck because neither one of us knew about that.

We assumed it was on

Learn something new all the time, and it makes more sense that you would not have to pay to be able to get help when your unconscious bleeding body is pinned under the dash after a wreck.

I've seen that 911 assist screen and wondered what it was about. I tried reading the Sync owners manual when I got the truck, but it was confusing. At least I read the truck's owners manual. That safety feature is a compelling reason to keep Sync.
