The polyfil "trick" was developed for sealed boxes. In a ported box it usually works it self into the port blocking it.

So someone check my thinking please.....

If i have a sealed box with .35 cubicft airspace and i add polyfill to the box (30% increase based off the article) that would give me a increase of .1 cubicft airspace. thus giving me a total of .45 cubicft airspace.

your logic is correct...but do you know how much poly fill will give you that? b/c the article also states its anywhere from 1-1.75lbs ber cubic foot. You are better off making the box the right size per the speaker manufacturer, and jsut tweaking with the poly fill.

Thats where fiberglass comes into play! I'd do a little research on some Fiberglass forums...and you'll def be able to find the room your looking for...and then tune it with the polyfill
