Poly-fill in a Stealthbox
I was reading another post about poly-fill and didn't want to thread jack, so here is my question. I have the 10" JL Stealthbox in my 07 screw and want to add the poly-fill to it. I know where to get it, but what I am wondering, is where should I be stuffing it to get the best performance from it.
This is the box. I thought stuffing it into the marked red areas would work, but how close is too close to the sub?

I was reading about how it will make the sub sound a little lower. I am used to 12's, so I am trying to get as close as I can to that sound.

It's really only meant for sealed small boxes that don't have enough air space in them. If there is plenty of air space in the box already, I'm not sure it would make a difference at all.

Yes you can add poly fill to that enclosure....and it will change the sound...how much thuogh....thats the question. JL designed that box and sub to be an average between how low it can go vs how much output it gives. By adding ploy fill you will change their original intent...but that might be exactly what you are looking for. jsut dont stuff it too tight....keep it loose enough so that the fibers can resonate...

I think I might try it. If anything else, it's supposed to cool the air movement inside the box.

Popping your woofer off and stuffing some poly fill in there isn't a have to do thing, just depends on if you like what you hear. In my case, tricking the 8 inch car subwoofer into thinking the enclosure was larger with polyfill worked.
