Default Polk Audio db651 6.5" speakers & amp install

Tomorrow I'm taking my truck in to replace all the stock speakers with new Polks. Also adding an audiopipe 4080 amp.

My goal is to get a good improvement in the sound, but without replacing the stock radio and adding a sub which would cost me floor space under the backseat (I think). I'm hoping that I won't miss too much bass with this setup. I'm not big on door rattling bass anyhow, just want a decent sounding system. I'm usually listening to music that was on pop radio in the 1970s - good stuff!

I selected these speakers after hearing them. I found it difficult to find car audio shops that have stereo/ speaker set ups you can actually listen to. Definitely not like it was I the late 1970s and systems are far more complex today.

My last car audio mod was also back in the late 70s, so lots to learn.

Comments / suggestions?

I am told that a line processor makes a big difference when using a factory head unit. I am getting speakers, amp, and a Audio Control LCQ1 this week. A JL Audio Cleansweep also gets good reviews.

Install the PAC OEM FRD24 for RCA to amp. PNP install no speaker wire tapping. There are several threads on the PAC.

Not trying to hijack I'm kinda stuck with the same questions, im adding a focal 1 channel and 4 channel amps. I'm thinking about buying the audio control lc6i converter. Any input would be great.

I may have a used one for sale if you like a lc6i: used it only for 3 months. I replaced a HU so no longer need it.

It will get rid of all the processing that is already in the factory HU such as rolling off the bass, etc.
