Default Point me in the right direction please.

Been reading the forums for days and getting ready to start sound system work. I have the Sony/Nav package (2012 SCREW). I want to retain the head unit and all functionality. What I'd like to do is start small with a sub add on, removing the Sony sub. Then if I'm not satisfied move onto full speaker replacement, add amps, etc. What "piece" should I center everything around? I've looked at JBL MS-8, JL Cleansweep, Audiocontrol, etc. I would like something that allows me to slowly progress.

Example, it appears the Cleansweep would require me to run into the unit, then out to amps only. I don't want that because I may be just fine with a sub only. So I'd like something that offers room for expansion only if necessary.

Hope I make sense. Thanks fellas.

I think the first item u should buy is the pac aoem-frd24 that way you can keep ur factory HU sync and steering wheel controls...I have seen anything on whether or not it works with the 2012 but I bought one for my 2012 and will soon find out... if you go the amp route

But does that work with the Nav/Sony setup?

I don't think it will work with a Sony no matter what year and you shouldn't need them anyway. If you want to just replace the factory sub then all the connections you need will be at the sub already with the exception of a 12 volt wire from your battery. You should have a switched 12 volt and inputs wires for an aftermarket amp already in the factory plug at the sony sub. You will need to tap off them but they should be there. If you want to further then there are some good install threads here for complete systems.

I'm thinking the 2012 must be different. I've seen some pics where there is a small silver amp mounted underneath the factory sub box - not the case on mine. It's just a box with the 4 speaker wires running into it. No amp, remote wire, etc. I assume everything is under the center console. Looks like I'll either dig in and find out or wait for someone else to post more info.

Having the 2012 is a bit frustrating as there is no compatible CAI, cat back exhaust, audio info, nothing...

Patience is a virtue!

Use this for the RCAs and tap into the radio's ignition for a switched power source. You're welcome.
