Default Please Help Subs not working!!!!!

I am not sure what happened, but all of a sudden yesterday my subs started making an extremely loud clicking/ rattling noise when turned up loud. It almost sounds like something is bouncing around in the box. I took it to a local shop and they said that the fox box was bad. Granted it is leaking air, but I would not think that this is causing the rattle noise. I am planning on caulking that up. They mentioned the box may be to small, but I think the box fits the specs of the new type r 10,s swr1023d's. I went to bestbuy and bought a cheap box and hooked them back up and the noise is still there this box is a bit small .8 per chamber. The noise appears to be coming from both subs. I am lost at this point as to what is wrong. Please help. Thanks in advance guys.

To me it sounds like the voice coils have blown out. But that's just my guess without hearing it.

well I tried a new amp. Same type and used the same settings from the professional installer which sounded amazing for the first 2 months. Sound is still there. I am guessing has to be the subs. I can't tell if it is one or both of them. Can I just hook a meter up to them to see which is bad. Also, I don't know if this matters or not but the day they quit working I hit a huge pothole!

So they are still playing just making a rattling noise? Does it do it more at low volumes than high or does amplitude increase as u turn the volume up? Sounds to me like a torn spider. Just a guess if not that it's a deformed former

when I blew my sub I could hear a light crackling sound when I flexed the speaker part back and forth with my fingers. It also smelled like burnt electronics.

Those voice coils are burnt. And that awesome loudness is actually major clipping.

It is much worse as volume increases. I am going to hook a meter up to them. By the way pushing on the cone doesn't yield any noise or unusual tension. If they read correct, is there a way to see if the spider is bad. I want to make sure I send the right sub/subs back to sonic. Thanks for all the help!!
