Don't feel bad. A lot of people make that mistake. The only thing it gives you without sync is the switched 12v. You can get that from the fuse box.

Looks like MAYBE just MAYBE you could have a dealer reflash the computer but that may or may not work according to this thread. One says his works fine, the other says after the flash he had to reset computer and the DVD came back.
That seems like a lot to go through. I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze!

That would of saved me a few bucks.
