Pioneer avh-x3600bhs; finally installed. 2007 F150 SCrew.
2007 F150 SCrew.
I've had the pioneer avh-x3600bhs head unit for some time now. I bought it before they were phased out and got a decent deal from Best Buy. I got it mostly because of the ability to have a back-up camera for the truck. A while later I bought the installation kit (face plate) and the steering wheel control unit. I searched and searched for a camera built into the factory FORD emblem. I did not want to spend a bunch on the camera but, wanted the factory look. I finally settled on one from eBay for about $150. I also got a bypass, external USB / one-quarter inch input gang and, an extra 12 volt outlet.
These items sat in my garage for some time due to one reason or another. I did make the attempt myself at the installation but was a bit overwhelmed due to the truck having a stock head unit with after market amplifiers and speakers. It was a rats nest of wiring back there. So, the stuff sat in my garage for a while longer.
Well, I had everything (except the by-pass) installed yesterday. I am quite pleased with how it turned out and the fact that I have a back-up camera now is great. I spent more on having everything installed than I anticipated but, it's done and I did not have to pull out my hair doing it. It allowed me to work on some projects around the house.
Obligatory Pictures...
Before - Stock head unit. Alpine amps and JBL speakers.
After - Pioneer AVH-x3600BHS installed.
Stock camera and emblem bought from eBay. Was a unit for an F350 according to the installation guys.
Color theme changed to green. View of camera showing trailer.

Rearview Cam settings
I have an '07 supercrew that I just installed a rearview camera in with the AVH-x3600BHS head-unit. I can't get the cam to come on when in reverse automatically (it gets power from the back-up light). If I have the rearview setting to 'on', it works fine, but it also comes on when in 'drive' (blank screen). The polarity is set to battery. Not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, by connecting the positive wire on the backup cam to the accessory wire on the Hu/stereo harness. On my Kenwood it will allow me to view the back up camera while in motion in any gear! I would think your Pioneer would be the same, maybe not!
Sounds like you need to go back through your wiring, and make sure everything is hooked up properly! I got my HU from Crutchfield.com, and they helped me out alot! Good luck.
