That's the same video I used for my install.. Good reference.. Also - this may or may not happen to you - I had to install a resistor on the Power Lead wire to prevent the amp pop. Simple enough 1 watt resistor, 1.5k ohm from Radio Shack, soldered in line, problem solved.

Head unit is here!!!
I cant wait to start the install.......to bad my dash kit isnt in yet

I grabbed the 4 prong relay for the by pass from NAPA.
Part # is AR 294.

I would suggest going to Radio Shack for this as it was $16.99 at napa and only 6.99 at the Shack.

I'd take mine back, but napa is a block from my work and it would cost me $10 in gas to go to Radio Shack on the north side of Grand Rapids and then home to the house!

Ordered this back up camera too!

Let me know how that back up camera works out - I would like to get one, but there seems to be such huge differences on what is good and what isn't..

Interested to see how the install goes with the head unit..!!! We pretty much have the same HU - Let me know if you have any questions.. If I don't know - I might be able to point you in the right direction. But everything is pretty much straight forward..

Aloha..

@ SOCAL: I will let you know how it works. I figured for the $20 I cant go wrong. It has the line in and split wires to tie into the reverse lights. I will heat shrink wrap all connections and the camera itself to make sure it keep the water out. If it doesnt work out at least I will know how to hook up a nicer one.
Do you have amps and subs?

I already have some amps. they are posted in this thread. i really only want to spend money on a box and sub/subs. I, like most, just want the most bang for my $. I am more concerned that the space under the seat is not enough for most subs to sound good. I am only going to mount a box under the seat and do not wish to do a seat lift kit. After reading some of your posts, I am thinking that just 1 good sub will sound better with the space available.

B1gfun - I have a couple Fosgate Amps - P400.4 & an Old School Punch 150. My 400.4 is hooked up to 4 Kenwood 6x8 Image Enhancers and a pair 1" Tweets. My 150 is hooked up to a pair of 4ohm 6.5" Bazooka Tubes that I have paralleled down to 2 ohms, so I'm getting about 100 watts a side. Great Bass for me, big Country & Reggae fan. But I still impress my friends with the bass from Hip Hop..

The tubes work great for me. I need to remove them every now and then because I need to flip my seats up and carry items (golf equipment).

I need to take some pics - I'll upload them as soon as I do.. My next step is a 3" leveling kit and I'm gonna try and squeeze some 35's in there.. We'll see - can't do to much, I have a baby on the way.. Afraid my toys are gonna take a back seat once I do.. Atleast it's for the best possible reason..!!
