Default Overhead DVD entertainment not working

Hello all. Looking for some help. I have a 2005 F150 Lariat edition. It came with the overhead DVD and what looks like a 7 to 8 inch TV screen. I guess the system is designed to work with the OEM radio that came with the truck. But I have a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT installed. The overhead is getting power because it will intake and eject DVD's but that is it. The manual says to operate the overhead the Aux botton on the OEM radio needs to be pushed in and the whole system works together. I went to bestbuy to see if they could fix the problem but they said that it can't be done with the Pioneer. I also went to a local dealer and they said that they couldn't help me b/c they subcontract out there audio problems. If we can put a man on the moon surely this isn't beyond our capabitity.
Please Help Me

One small step for Ford kind: look for a PIE (Precision Interface Electronics) FRD04-DVD
