Rockford Fosgate Power T152.

Looks to me like a good compromise between coaxials and components.

What do you guys think about replacing my stock 2010 screw speakers with these, powered by an amp..

Those don't fix the fundamental flaw of "coaxial" speakers. It's not the mounting of the tweeter, it's the lack of a real crossover.

Why compromise, if it has to fit in the stock location, get some 5 1/4" comps and use a standard adapter plate. You can find some in that price range it you need to.

For cheap comps, the PG RSDs are reguarded pretty well: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...ld_RSd5cs.aspx

thanks for the info. so, if i understand you correctly, these components will fit in the existing space? By using an adapter plate, I don't have to create a new hole for the tweeters?

Can you suggest some other higher quality components that would fit in the stock location. I'm willing to go as high at 150-160 for some good quality components up front. And, also a couple of suggestions for some rear speakers. I'm planning on using an Alpine PDX-5 amp to power the doors and a 10" sub. Thanks a bunch.

No extra hole.... I've seen guys on here use plastic, plexi & mdf. I bought the plastic ones on ebay. Mounts like this.

Check out Diamond, Image Dynamics, ARC, CDT, Zapco and DLS on woofersetc.com. DIYMA.com is good for reviews.

If you want coax, this will be the best coax you can get:

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...TS-D1302R.html

You can fit 6.5" speakers, you just need an adapter. And the PG Rsd are really nice comps, you can't do better for the price, but they are power hungry, i had then in my explorer and they can take 200W rms, without problem.
