One suwoofer vs two subwoofers
Hey guys,
I have an amp that can push 1x 740w or 2x 370w rms and I'm trying to decide if I should get one 10' sub that pulls around the 740 or two 10' that pull around 370 each? What would be the difference in sound quality/clarity? I want it to sound as clean as possible.
I guess my real question is, since a single subwoofer generally sits on the back driver's side with the f150-specific encolsures, would dual subwoofers make the bass in the truck sound more "even"? Or am I overthinking it?

This one:

And I know PA stuff is considered garbage by the audio community, but I've used this for over 10 years and it gives me what I need. I'll probably use it until it goes out on me. Anyway, I can't use my Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1s anymore because the mounting depth is too deep, so I'm looking for a 10' or two.
I want to maximize power so I'll run it at 2ohm impedance. Either setup will consist of a sealed, downfiring box under the rear seat of my crew cab. Subwoofer setup considered:
MTX FPR10-04 (x2)
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_236FPR1...04.html?tp=111
Kicker 40CWRT101 (x1)
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_2064CRT...01.html?tp=111
What do you guys think between the two options? Like I said in the first post, I want it to sound clean... but I do want it to hit decently hard as well...

None of those subs is what you want. If your running 2 subs you will need 2 single2 or dual4 subs. If your only using one sub you need a single 4 or a dual 2. That kicker is dual 1 and the MTXs are single4. Also if your going with shallow subs you should run a 12 in my opinion. Are you using a prefab box? If so how much mounting depth do you have available? Some of those frefab boxes can fit a real (not shallow) sub that will kill those shallows

Mounting depth is about 5 inches I believe. I need shallow.

If your only running one you would buy this one and wire in series

If you want 2 you would buy this and wire the coils series/paralell
http://www.woofersetc.com/p-10240-sd...subwoofer.aspx
check out www.bcae1.com for everything you need to know about wiring
Let me know if Im being pushy on the sub recommendations and Ill stop. I hate to see anyone waste money on that shallow crap when you can fit a real sub
