Default Newer OEM radio in F150???

Ive searched and have not been able to find anything definitive on the subject. I have a 2001 F150 with factory single cd player. It doesnt like cd's, it just clicks and spits them out most of the time.
Anyways, I am a fan of looking OEM and I like the radio in my mothers 08 tarus. Would it be possible to put a newer oem ford radio in place of mine? I can find one cheaper than aftermarket on ebay, and I get to retain that oem look. Not worried about navigation, but that would be cool. Thanks for the help!

With custom mounting and wiring, you should be able to do it. May have a couple functions that may not work.

Definitely not plug and play if that's what your looking for.
