Hi guys, I am a newb at this and would appreciate help being pointed in the right direction. I just bought a Pioneer avh-4200dvd last night and it will be here in a week.

Do I need to buy new wiring? Do I need to buy a harness for it to seat properly

I will be getting the unit in about a week and want to have everything here when it arrives.

if yu had a wire harness already then not rele yu jus have to cut out most of the black plastic behind the stereo also dont cut to much so it wont be wobbly

You mean I have to fab the hole some? I thought a double din would just pop right in..

I do have the factory stereo, its a ccd/mp3, am fm, aux jack if that helps.

Will the existing wiring I have do or will I need something else?

Do you have a harness adaptor and installation kit? Those are all you should need.

My truck is an 07. Is there really soldering involved or is it just plug and play.

Im no stranger to electronics though, I build different configurations of PC's all the time..

The "harness" is the connector with pigtails that connects to the stock head unit connections. You'll either solder or crimp those pigtails to the ones that come with the Pioneer. The "installation kit" just adapts the Pioneer mounts to the stock ford ones and trims out the hole to the proper size.
