Default New Truck Coming & Stereo Going

Guys, I have an 09 Screw Lariat on the way. I have attempted to find out what size speakers are going to fit for my immediate upgrade. Help me spend some money. It's been a while since I went speaker and amp shopping and I know they have been greatly advanced. Not into flashy screens and videos. I hear with my ears. Any input appreciated. Money not an issue. Thanks!

If money isnt an object then i would suggest going with the JL Audio ZR 6.5" components it may take some modification to make them fit the stock locations. Then for the amp i would go with the JL Audio HD600/4. Now are you just looking for mids and highs or do you want bass also?

You are correct about Crutchfield. That was my first stop. I've been doing some reading on the diy mobile audio forums, and it seems like the cleanest way to go would be to keep the head unit and get a signal processor. (I have read the Bit 1 is the best thing out, but they are impossible to get hold to.) I am interested in installing an amp for the mids & highs, and putting a single sub in back with a dedicated amp.
Are the 6.5" speakers the largest that will fit in the doors? I can fit very little on what is currently configured in the 09.

Thanks

Well you are partially correct you can stay with your stock head unit and buy a signal processor or you can change you head unit to a double din touch screen and get everything you need built right in plus the good looks of the touch screen. For this i would recommend the kenwood dnx8120. With this unit you get everything you want plus hands free bluetooth and navigation. If you are set on keeping the stock head unit then i would go with the Rockford Fosgate 3 sixty.2.

As far as your doors speakers go I am not sure what comes stock in the 2009s but if they are the same as the 2004-2008 then it will come stock with 6x8s in both the front and back. What you can do here is go with the JL Audio ZR 5x7 component set in both doors. the mid range will fit the stock location and screw holes without any modification. Now the tweeters you will have to modify the stock location in the front doors which all you need is a roto zip to make the hole just a little bigger for the tweeter to fit. But in the back I dont think there is a stock location for a tweeter so you can get a little creative with you placement. Personally I would cut a hole in the door panel somewhere around the door handle. And for the amp the JL Audio HD 600/4 will make you a very happy customer.

Here are a few links where you can get the said items at a good price.

The ZR series components retail for $869 you can buy them here for $450

The HD600/4 retails for $849 you can buy it here for $549
