OK...you get my first post on an old thread. I am setting up a system with the cleansweep and was wondering, what exactly was the reason for needing the extra summing device. I am guessing your factory system had a factory sub??? Just hoping I dont need it as well...mine did not.

The signal summing deviice was needed because the wiring in my system went like this: data, not signal, wass sent from my head unit to the factory data processor/amp. And from the dp/amp highs, mids, and lows went to thier respectful speakers. The signal summing device combined all 3 frequencies into one which is what the jl cleansweep requires. Then the cleansweep processes the info and gives you rca outputs which then go to thier respectful amp and then to the components and/or subs.
Your installer should know. A better way to go would be a rockford fosgate 3sixty. Its both units in one. Keep me posted

Thanks khusson...that's what I thought, it would have worked fine as I have the base system not the supreme or whatever they call the upgraded package. With that being said...RF3SIXTY.2 is on the way! Far superior to the cleansweep...as for the installer, your looking at him. Not a money issue but a satisfaction+knowledge one. I install and I get the satisfaction of showing my work and when someone has a question I can explain every inch of my system and troubleshoot and tune etc...thanks for the help. Seems like we have a couple of things in common... 1) working on our own vehicles and 2) RF products. A couple of pics of the system I did in my Jeep...

That red and black really POPS...gave me an idea for mine. Everything should be delivered by Friday, then the fun begins. I did get a call from woofers etc. Informing me that the Jl c5 comps that I ordered were on back order, so they upgraded them to the CDT ES 600 gold series. I think it was a fair ($300) DEAL! I will shoot some pics when it all comes in. Nice install by the way!!!
