Default New system is complete....FINALLY!!!

Well last week I made a custom sub box/ tool box. Yes it is 2 in one. 55" long and 30" is the sub box and 25" for the tool side. Even the amp is flushed mounted at the bottom. So the top of the box looks just like a carpeted box since the sub is down firing and the amp is at the bottom too.
I used the aeom frd24 since I kept the factory HU. Really easy plug and play. Also used the Pac sub volume control which is nice to add bass when i want it. So I have a old school kenwood 4 channel with a 5 band eq for each side going to a 12" pioneer shallow mount. I was even surprised how hard it hits.
Hardest part was having to take the dash and console apart to get the HU out. Hopefully i can finish adjusting the eq today and will be done. I will try to post pics in the next day or two. I have the amp turned all the way down and it is loud, a 1/4 volume is crazy loud going to my components in the doors. Overall real happy with my system i finished on the cheap. Got about $600 in everything....Ebay is awesome!

Here are the pics!!!!!

This is what I was looking to build for my '11 SCrew. Any pics of the enclosure you're willing to share? I built enclosures on the side many years ago and I'm curious to see how yours turned out.

Pics have been added. I finished adjusting the EQ and mounting it with custom brackets this morning. Sounds great except for a slight tapping sound at 2nd notch on volume (even with truck off)...weird but sounds good!!!

Is it possible to get you to fab up another one of these? I don't really have the time to make one and this is perfect for me!! Just PM me if you can with a price!

(I already have an amp and sub)

Sorry man I got out of making boxes years ago. Been doing stereo installs and building boxes for 20 years. If I didnt have the amp and sub from my last truck I wouldnt have even done this. Getting a little to old to be bumpin like I use too. And failing the annual hearing test at work to prove it. Just take your time, if u can cut wood and have alittle patience you can do it! It is nice when I show people to tell them I did it.

Start to finish took about 3 solid hours. Amp install was about the same amount due to having to take the dash apart and i have the center console so that was an extra pain. Overall not bad but I can do a GM truck in half the time.

Here is some info:
55" wide
7 3/4" in the front and 4 3/4" in the back
13" deep (fit my 12" sub perfect)

30" for the sub side
25" for the tool box side (sprayed the inside of this tool side with aerosol bed liner from Auto Zone)

my amp area is 12 1/2" x 2 1/4" high(that obviously will be adjusted to the size amp you have)

Everything was glued, nailed and screwed. Even sanded the whole box and rounded the edges before I carpeted it! Yes I am ****!!

I was concerned with rattling from the tools but that is not an issue at all. i just packed it tight (tools, straps, jumper cables, etc) and wrapped everything in extra rags (which I like to have handy anyways). I am going to redo the ground to get rid of that slight tapping noise and I should be good to go.

Thanks for the props!!
