New Sundown Audio Installed!
I wanted to play with a beefy 8" sub, and did as much research as I could before I decided to go with this combo. It was between this or the new alpine type r 8". I was initially going to do front firing, but I didn't want to build a wedge box and this sundown is only 4.75" deep and doesn't need any additional room behind the magnet, so it BARELY fits firing up w/ the spacer. It still touched the underside of the seat when it's really moving, but it's the soft carpet and is fine.
(1) Sundown Audio sd2-8" dual 4ohm in .61 cuft after displacement box ported to 34hz.
(1) Alpine mrp500
So far I love it! Wasn't looking to rattle my cab apart, but wanted good output and to go low as most music will require. I have had everything from a type x 12 ported on 1k watts to a 10" tc sounds epic 10 in a sealed box, and I think this is the best SOUNDING combo yet!

How you like the e8's? I are they D2 or D4? I'm looking to get one to replace my wife's cheap re audio 8" I threw in her jeep. I would buy one from you if it's a D4...haha
thanks,
Dan

It's in a ported box, so it's not as punchy as my TC was. It sounds so much smoother, and to me sounds much better and more musical. I know the ported box typically is supposed to be less precise, but I think it blends better and just has a better overall sound.
